There are so many pros and cons to a new grill it seems like. I’m just wondering if it’s worth buying a new grill or doing some minor upgrades to my current one? I have a Lil Tex currently which works well. I looked into upgrading the controller and the firebox. If I bought a new one, I’d probably look hard at an Ironwood 885, unless people have other suggestions. I want a higher temp if possible, and the super smoke seems like a nice option. Thanks!

I like the SS option it is only available below 225T, the Timberline 850 is +300 vs. the IW885@ 1500, then the T1300 is + 200 vs the 885
Such a dilemma.. ( I had the same one...)

If you're happy with the Lil Tex and can upgrade it for cheap - I'd probably just go with that option for now. Buy yourself some time and figure out which model you really want next.
Super Smoke is a nice feature. I also liked the idea of being able to crank my IW up to 500, but I've only done it once. Mainly just to see if it worked. I've always just found it easier to get my propane grill up to temp while the Traeger is smoking. Then I can just reverse sear right away.
