I have had my Traeger for 2 days now and i am very satisfied with the quality but i just can't get a connection to the wifi.

i do all the steps in the app and it is then connected, but after two seconds it flies out again (always at the point where you should choose a nickname).

I already have done all the steps on the http://wizard.web.traegergrills.io/wifire/welcomeSite. But it still doesn't work.

Does one of you have a solution? i have some smart home devices and none of them have such problems.

I am having the same issue. Except my controller is so old that traeger is telling me the app is to new to communicate with the grill. Is your grill old or new? Thanks.

It is a new Ironwood 650.

Call Traeger, they can tell you how new or old it is. If its been sitting in a warehouse or in a stores store room. Who knows what year it was manufactured.

Did you notice the firmware version, in the above pic?

according to the serial number, it was manufactured in october 2019. but it should still be possible to connect it to the wifi.

Hi, i got the same issue with my pro 780, firmware too old to connect. It was a brand new grill but surely an "old" stock. Traeger send me a new controller and everything works now perfectly.

Your firmware is out of date from what I see here: https://www.traegergrills.com/status

If/when that gets updated, you might have better luck.

Eric, skip the nickname part for now... MAKE SURE your router or WiFi doesn't need to OKAY a new signal... I had a WiFi router that needed me to go into it and say YES to allow the new signal to connect.
Also make sure you are within RANGE, don't assume the Traeger has a long range, mine is 6 feet away but thru a thick mason wall with a window and I still get short disconnects during cooks and then it comes back.

the router doesn't have to give okay, I've already checked that. the router is right next to the grill.
so it can't really be because of that.
