Timberline Gen 3

I have had my gen 2 for a year now… other than the gradient that I have not worked on, it is functioning as expected. With a FB to set the accurate cooking temperature

Wondering the same. I'd like to pick up a Timberline 1300... possibly even today getting 5% cash back at Ace Hardware thru PayPal/Discover but will hold out if a gen 3 is nearby. I really want the ability to use two probes and not have paint peeling when cooking at 500deg.

I’ve seen a few posts where you talk about the # of probes. Most, if not all, of us use an external thermometer such as a Fire Board 2 or Ink Bird.

Traeger is widely known to have inaccurate probes so whether you have 1, 2 or 6 - they are all junk!

The Fire Board has slots for up ton6 probes so I use one ambient probe to accurately monitor pit temps and then meat probes for IT of my protein.

Do yourself a favor and pick up one of these! There is an Ink Bird thread here talking about a 50% discount on Amazon, which is a smoking deal!

As noted in an earlier thread, Yoder uses the Fire Board for their integrated controller, that’s how good they are.

I hope they work on the temp probe issues.

Even better would be for Traeger to incorporate the recently acquired Meater thermometers/technology into the controller and app.
