Timberline 1300 fan cycling

Hello,
I recently upgraded to the timberline 1300 from an older Traeger model. I am wondering about the fan on the timberline. On my older model it sounded as though the fan was constantly running. On the timberline it does not. It seems to cycle on and off. Is this normal. I read somewhere it will do this on super smoke and on start up. Is this correct? Does start up also mean it cycles on and off if the lid is open? I was searing a steak with the lid up, and it the fan would cycle on and off. Just wanting to make sure all these things are normal.

Completely normal!

Mine cycles on super smoke. Runs continuously when not using super smoke not sure when lid is open I will check this weekend

Yep - same here. and I use SS on a majority of my cooks! I just got a smoke tube to use, especially at higher temps!
