Traeger Silerton
New to Traeger.I have a Silverton. Cooking Italian sausage.Inserted the probe and in 15 minutes said internal temperature was 170.Cooking temp set at 300.Used a thermometer and said temp was 130. Any ideas thanks.
 
Try calibrating temp probe as instructions say to.

Always compare your Traeger to a different probe. In my case I put the Traeger and the Thermapen probes into ice water to compare. I take the Thermapen always as the right temp and adjust the Traeger.
 
I have a silverton 810, my ambient probe is off by 30 ( to get 180, I have to set the Treager to 210) but once I calibrated the meet probe it compares favorably with the FireBoard., and the thermapen..
 
Also when searing be careful the sides have no insulation, and you will get burned on that 500+ metal....
