Temp probes

Just purchased these temp probes from Amazon for my IW 885. Checked them against my iGrill and they were within 3-4 degrees. About $18 for the pair.

I think so. I have the iGrill 2 and have used it for years. Used in my Genesis, SmokeFire, and 885.

Has anyone ever used a temp gun to check a thermocouple? I might try checking my ambient temp probe using my temp gun to see if it matches the display temp. Could also check my meat probe.

I use my Temp gun for the Grill Grates, the Temp gun does not work so well on air... it is a reflective device.
I use a Fireboard to calibrate the meat probe and adjust the Grill temp to the FB ambient probes.
