I have the Timberline 850 Gen 1 and my Auger just quit working. Looked online and found the Traeger Timberline/Ironwood Video on accessing and replacing the auger. Access looks the same and removing the motor is similar ... but what looks to be the gear box does not have screws and does not come off like in the video. The motor is not moving and seems to be seized - just hums and rattles, and fan doesn’t turn.
Called support and they were not much help, she basically told me to try googling it (which I tried already). They were able to order a new auger motor, which I did, but concerned if my auger is stuck that might be the cause of the motor going bad.
Anyone ever replace the auger on a Timberline Gen 1, or have a pointer to a video or instructions?
I just don’t want to start hammering or prying things until I know how it’s suppose to come out.

Doesn't the auger have a reverse/unjam function in settings? Just a stab and clearing a possible jam.

Did you ever find a way to fix? I have a gen 1 as well, and can’t find anyway to remover the auger either. Did you ever solve the issue? No help from Traeger c/s after several calls.

Yes, someone on a Traeger FB group helped. There is another screw that needs to be taken out. I've attached a picture showing the screw. That screw holds the Teflon bushing, once I removed that screw I was able to pull out the auger with a little tug.

I really sympathize with you. You may want to change to a new Auger Motor. I had a problem with Auger Motor before. I am on this website-https://grillpartsreplacement.com/search?type=product&q=Traeger+Auger+Motor&options [prefix]=last changed to a new one, the quality is still good, at least it is still in use, you can see if there is anything you need on it, I hope my answer can help you, I wish you Good luck, buddy!

Thank you for the picture! I have had the same problem. I cannot figure out how to take the motor off of the auger. I can feel a sheer pin behind the motor but I cannot get to it or see it.

I need to replace the fan motor on a Gen 1 Timberline. Out of warranty. Any suggestions on finding that part. Traeger customer service refuses to believe the fan is not working?!
