Probes or the control?

I bought some knockoff replacement temperature probes for my Traeger Pro34, and they worked fine initially. Then, I had to push the button several times to cycle from the grill temp, to “P1” and “P2.” Now, I can’t get the readout to cycle/display P1 and P2 at all. To me that seems like a controller problem, which is likely above my pay grade; doubt the probes would cause this/both go bad. Any suggestions? Don’t want to waste money on Traeger brand replacements if that won’t fix the problem. TIA
