Hi all,
I have a fairly new Pro Series 22 which is about 6 months old. Typically I'd only use it for smoking (Brisket, Bacon, Fish) and recently wanted to run it hotter to cook ribs. It appeared to be running hot, for which I thought I'd just turn it down for the next lot of ribs.
Then... wanted to smoke again and the temp swung right up to 350F - 400F and stayed there.
So... Empty the hopper, vac out the fire box, empty the anger, clean out the chimney, all clean.
Then... Exact same problem, so I turn it to smoke and the auger just stayed on until the fire box was overflowing.
Repeat clean out... Start up... Same result.
I'm guessing the controller is the culprit, because if the displayed temp was significantly higher than the set temp, the auger should shut off?
Thanks for taking the time to read this post, I hope someone there has had the same issue and fixed it.
