So I've been craving some burnt end's so I decided to try smoking a chuck roast...... Well 2.... I started off with 2 3Lb chuck roasts. I rubbed them the night before with Kinder Buttery smokehouse rub. I put them on at 250-275, smoked them until 165 internal temp, wrapped and cooked them until 203 internal temp. Pulled them off, unwrapped, let rest for 30 min, cut into 3/4"cubed, rubbed with Sweet Heat BBQ sauce with some brown sugar mixed in. Put in a foil pan uncovered and cooked for another 45min @ 300 degrees.
MAN..... This is by far the best thing I've cooked on my Traeger. They came out perfect. I'm glad I made 2 because they went in a flash for the guys at work. I even impressed myself a bit. Here are some pics for you to enjoy... Total cook time - 8.5 hours from the time I put them on the Traeger to the time I pulled them off in the sauce and foil pan.
Smoked with a blend of B&B brand Apple and Cherry pellets.
Also if you guys can find this sauce brand around town or you order on-line, it is awesome. I've tried several of their sauces and they're amazing. They are all made in small batches and hand crafted, as well as made in the USA!
