Offset smoker repair and new firebox. Then modify to reverse flow. ( Successful)

Well went out to prep my offset for next weekend, found it rusting to the ground. Literally the legs were giving out. I bought a Char griller competition pro in spring of 2019, it needed a new firebox, and has been sitting ever since. So i got a new firebox and removed the old one. The grill was gone under the firebox opening. So got my trusty welder out and here we goo.....

A little high temp paint. Next seal and install new firebox.

Now finish putting hardware on then ready to go!

Thanks guys. Got it all put back together, im gonna make a baffle system for it tommorrow and fire it up for a couple hours. I'm gonna put the Fireboard probes to check and even out temps.

Is that orange bead Hi-Temp Silicone? If so beware, I tried some in my initial grill mods and it burned up, gave off tons of white smoke till it was gone.

Yes it is. Same stuff i used on the first one and didnt have a problem. Its a high temp automotive silicone. But there is not much is on the inside.

Ya you should be fine, I used the same stuff on my first attempt at protecting the drip channel. I used it and some aluminum angle stock, all of it burned up, including the aluminum, on the first test fire. That's when I went all stainless in this high heat area.
