I purchased a an Ironwood 885 in June 2020. Out of the box, power was getting to the orange switch in the back of the hopper, but no power was getting to the control panel.

After several calls, I am not convinced that anyone at customer care has been trained on the new Ironwood 885. I believe that there is no fuse that is replaceable on the back of the control panel. But most customer care reps don’t know this until I tell them, or show them a picture of the back of the panel.

Traeger is finally sendomg me a new control panel but, l’m not confident this will fix the problem.

Has anyone else had an experience similar to this?

Ive had mine about a year and now there is no power. They are sending a new power brick, so will see how that goes. Would love to know where the fuse is located so I can check that. Techsupport didnt even ask.

I’m not sure there is a fuse. In a video chat, the Traeger rep said there wasn’t one that could be removed from the new control panel.

Additionally, technician from the local hardware store said that he had not been trained on the new Ironwood’s and that they had not yet even been issued the new control panels as stock for repair work.

I'm having the same problem and after 3+ months of waiting for the new power "brick" (its a common computer power supply), it arrived. However no instructions on how to replace it.. does anyone have any insight?

Unscrew the bottom cover under the pellet hopper, the brick is under there. Just remove it and plug in the new one, very easy once you have the cover off.

Well a bit of an update after two months, the power brick went out again. Not sure what's going on with our friends in Utah, but am becoming really dismayed about the quality of a very expensive grill.

Hmm, do you keep it plugged in? Perhaps a small plug-in surge suppressor might be in order. This is not at all a commonly reported issue, as you are the only one I know of.

Cheap insurance;

I appreciate the reply and yes I do keep it plugged in (switched off), but.. I have a whole house surge protector and that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe just have to unplug it every time.
