I cooked mine at 350 for an hour. I didn’t tell my wife I used the smoke tube initially and she raved about how much smoke flavor was in the food and that it was the most smoke she’d ever tasted in the food. I can’t wait to try this tube with meat. I’m doing 2 butts Friday for my bday.Nice, how long did it take to cook?
Heck yeah that tube is awesome I’m doing all apple on my pork butts FridayI agree, the smoke tube may be the new thing for us too. My wife was waiting for the UPS guy to drop her new smoke tube last night. She asked me to pull the T out, as she had pounds of cheese she wanted to cold smoke.
I think it was interesting, but we probably should have chosen our pellets, rather than just burn out the pre-loaded ones. As the smoke was not the most pleasing. I have no idea what they pre-loaded it with. All i know is it will be money for our next batch of meat, loaded with the flavor of the day pellets!
Check them out on Amazon they are fairly inexpensive like $14. You load them with whatever pellets you want then light it, blow out the flame, let it smoke for 5-10 min and set it in your grill for extra smoke. The pellets in the Traeger are kind of mild in my opinion so this was suggested to me as an option for more smoke and I love it. I got the Lizzyq or something like that its a hexagon shape so it doesn't roll around the grill. They also have a video on Amazon that explains how to use it. Id highly recommend it. I could taste the smoke big time in the mac n cheese and only used the tube for an hour.Ok, I'm new... what is a smoke tube?
