Seeing if anyone else is having issues with the temperature control on their Ir0nwood XL. I set my grill to 375degrees and the grill heated up to 400-404degrees and fluctuated between 397-404 degrees for fifteen minutes. I opened the grill thinking it would help as the temperature dropped down to 350. The grill heated back up to 400+ degrees and fluctuated between 397-403degrees for twenty minutes. I called support and the they advised that Traegers grills can fluctuate up to 25degrees in either direction at that this "NORMAL". I have heard of fluctuations in temperature up to 7degrees in either direction but never 25degrees. Ten minutes into our conversation the temperature went down to 375degrees and was holding within 3-5degrees either way. I placed my food on the grill. Twenty minutes into the cook the grill dropped down ten degrees then went back up to 387 then dropped 27 degrees. This continued throughout the cook.

Has anyone had this issue and is this normal for these grills to very in temperature that extreme?

There are some very good posting out there that give you fixes, and some that are not based on any logic at all.

I’ve experienced the same thing. Originally, I thought it was a problem, but now after getting more information, from others here and on YouTube, I think the temp is supposed to fluctuate up and down for the smoke.

Ray,
Thank you for the response, any idea where I can find those postings?

The search engine works pretty good.
There is an ADVANCED search where one can search;
-person listing
-topics
-etc.
