Greetings. I just bought a new but rough Timberline 850. I need a cheap grease tray replacement.

Hi. Just picked this up from OfferUP. It appears to have been a store return or something because while being brand new it has some dings and missing parts to it. Such as the legs, the side and front stainless tables, chopping block and most importantly the grease drawer + grease drawer lid. I got it for $225 so I can't really complain at all, but I'm currently looking for the most important part, the grease drawer. I checked measurments from a parts shop online and I'm wondering if I can use a 1/4" x 4" deep hotel pan instead (steam tray).

Looking into it further it looks as though there is a lid that's supposed to go on the grease drawer that mates with the cooking area via a gasketed hole. So now I'm worried that it's a sealed grease system and a hotel pan won't work. A nother problem besides it being expensive to buy an OEM replacement ($130) is that I can't find a grease drawer lid anywhere. What are my options?

Although I don’t know anything about the Timberlines other than they are way overpriced, if possible I would put some pellets in it and see if it works before spending anymore money on it. If it’s missing vital parts or defective parts that make it work, you could weigh your options. Hopefully it’ll run as it should, then you got yourself a great deal.

I took off the front panel to test the thermocouple and it was unplugged. I plugged it in, put in some new pellets and I'm doing the initial burn in right now. So far everything is working fine. All that's left is figuring out a grease drawer that doesn't cost half as much as this machine did.
