I've been using my Traeger for about 6 months now and over the past month I've been noticing grease splattering. I've carefully cleaned the grease trap but I'm still seeing it. Any ideas as to the cause or what I can do?

Thanks, Tim

It happens. You can get a mat to put under your Traeger. Cleaning the mat is easier than cleaning the pavers.

I get splatters/drips when taking something off of the Traeger, when flipping something, from the tongs or plates dripping. BBQ can be a messy hobby.

Traeger do a nice mat but it isn't the cheapest, however after spending megabucks on a Gen 2 Ironwood the extra cash was a drop in the ocean! ;) Plenty of generic mats out there too.

Grill mats can come in various sizes and materials. I have one under my Griddle that I made of cement backer board. I purchased ceramic tiles to cover the cement board for a more finished appearance. I have a rubber mat under my Traeger. Just make sure the mat is both longer and wider than your grill so that grease ends up on the mat and not on your patio or deck.

If you do not have a front tray for your grill, you might look for one. Traeger sells them, but there are 3rd party models sold on Amazon. Just make sure you get one specifically to fit your grill. I have a 3rd party one for my IW885. It works well. Most of my splatter ends up on the tray rather than on the mat or deck.

I have the orange one with white letters. It looked nice when it was new. All the grooves in it hold a lot of water and dirt. So if you leave it outside, it'll get really dirty. I have to power wash it every so often.
