I have sold my Traeger and crossed over to the dark side, lump charcoal and wood. I have really enjoyed myself here and everyone has been so helpful and I hope that I have helped as well. I will pop in every now and again but I wish you all well and thank you for having me.

Some of us cook on other things, I don't think you have to leave if you sell your Traeger.
I encourage you to stick around and share your experiences with your new smoker. Recipes cross over and you've shared a lot of yours with us here.
Hope you stick around, always great to see and learn about other options for cooking
My next smoker won't be a Traeger and plan to stick around until someone locks me out

Lump & wood is not the dark side David. Kingsford briquettes is getting close though. Nothing wrong with different cooking methods. I do both pellet and lump and gas, but I do enjoy my Traeger and the friends here online.
Don't be a stranger. I'd be glad to help on the ceramic grilling side if needed.

HELL NO, PLEASE DON'T GO!! HELL NO, PLEASE DON'T GO!!
This is not an exclusive club. There is no reason you cannot share your cooking with the place you have made home for over a year now...
I haven't even cooked ribs, butts, or large brisket on my Traeger yet, but the advice I gave and received on 'HOW to' came from years on other smokers.
That part don't change. the 3-2-1 is always the base for ribs no matter what cooker it is on.
Please share your progress and successes here freely feeling as welcome as ever.

I bought a Masterbuilt 1050 gravity feed smoker. It looks a bit tinny compared to the Traeger make but I felt that I would like to do this now rather than later.
And I will be back, support and encouragement from 'you mob' will make me do it. So I will let you know how I go and what the difference is.

That is where my age has a benefit of seeing something that might be easier. I haven't received it yet so will come back after a few tries to let you know.
