I purchased a Texas Elite34 off of FB marketplace for $50. Over the summer I’m going to build it up with the FireBoard controller with WiFi and multi probe ports. And a bunch of other accessories from Pimpmygrill and other companies. Hopefully I’ll be putting installation videos on Yu0tube and Instagr4m . I’ll post pics here for all of you to see.
Here is the grill. They said it had an auger jamb and was really dirty. And the heat shield was rusted almost in half.

Include links to everything you buy please

I can help with the drip tray and heat shield.
I build heavy stainless steel parts the even out your grill. Firepots also

Ok, here is a video I made of the FireBoard controller installation, it was pretty easy. WiFi is setup through the FB app and was super easy.

First cook on the Texas Elite 34 with the FireBoard controller installation. So far I’m pretty impressed.Temp is very consistent over the last 2 hours.

That looks pretty impressive so far.
Did they have an algorithm setting for the elite? Or did you have to use generic?

No they don’t have one for the elite, although they do have few other grill profiles. I used the generic which FireBoard states should work for most grills. After I use it a little I plan on using the other profiles to see what they do.

Here is the readout at 4.5 hours. I’m still quite impressed!

Just shows that Traeger has the ability in their hardware. It is great you can now upgrade old technologies to something that is current, even on the older grills. I think this was a win move for FireBoard offering this upgrade for other grills.
Look forward to your testing on this.

Not WIFI grills...
So I wonder if they ever will??
My grill just needs to 'run', since I have a complete FireBoard system anyway not sure I would upgrade my 575.

One day would love to own a small Fireboard compatible grill

They just came out with one for the Masterbuilt grill, it is low voltage. So I’m guessing they will come out with one for most low voltage grills in the future.

Have you tried to see if you can run the Traeger with the FB at 150°F? See if it holds that steady and goes that low
Be a good way to use it as a holding oven if you needed one

I didn’t go that low. It held 185f really good. I haven’t had time to play with it.

This is the first real cook on it, this graph is about 2 hours. So far I’m pretty impressed.
