I added this to my post on insulating my Timberline 850 but this method is pretty easy and could be adapted to other models, just make a paper template and snip away. I ran mine for an hour at 500F and no more melted liner.

After using this clip on heat balancer shield a bit, I have to say that it is a huge improvement to the grill for the least amount of work. It has improved the right and left heat balance on the grill, lowered the drip channel temp so that the grease doesn't burn up, and balanced the heat better in the exhaust system. Here are some I/R photos showing the improved balance
