Works for me... I insulated the Traeger. I got wet but the Traeger stayed fairly dry. so the cook was good...
If you cook in the rain you may burn more pellets....

Personally I'd have at least some cover overhead if possible, otherwise smoke on!

I just started using it for first time today and it started raining. Got sunny. Now raining again. Lol. I have a cover gazebo coming tomorrow. Just wasn’t sure if it caused a bad reaction with the metal to be hot while being rained on or if a risk to the electrical components.

The controller is pretty much protected from a drizzle, you may get some water spotting on the paint when mixed with ash etc.
