Wish mine was that close at that temperature. It is refreshing to see that it can be accurate. My pit gets more accurate at around 225 and above.
I don't even use the Traeger meat probe anymore, it is off far too much even after being calibrated

Same here with the Traeger meat probe, with the accuracy issue and the random alarm notifications (or no notifications) I lost confidence in it I went with a Fireboard, I have 35 recorded cooks in the cloud since purchase (Feb 2020) never plugged the Trager probe in since.

Well this where its at now 30 degrees off. Im thinkin fireboard.

for now I think you trust your Thermopro... don't be fooled by the Traeger App temp, that's what everyone is saying. How do you know your Thermopro is wrong right now???

Q: about Fireboard... who paid the extra $50 to get it "certified calibrated" ???

I agree about trusting the thermapro
I didn't pay the extra for certified calibrated. I don't do competition cooks so I didn't see the need. You can even get better probes for it. I didn't do that either.
I have checked both ice and boiling water and all probes were within 0.4° of actual if it wasn't right on.
That was accurate enough foe me

I have 2 instant read thermometers for final temp.

From what I've been seeing, the Traeger reported temps seem to be non-linear. Mine matches Fireboard over 250F and is 15-20F low at low temps. But set temp numbers do hold pretty good on the grill.
