Guys, Have anyone replace the Controller in a Traeger Ironwood 885. I received my new Controller today. It looks there is a plate under the Pellet hopper that can be removed.

Are you talking about the electronics controller? Where the buttons and display are located? If so, you just unscrew the 4 Phillips-head screws on the controller itself and it pops right out.

It pops right out, but unless you have inhuman hands it is not possible to hook up the wires, because they are tie-wrapped down inside. You need to drop the bottom panel beneath the hopper to hook up the wires (something Traeger doesn't bother to tell you.) Also the instructions have the colored wires mixed up in the instructions-just match the colors the way they were. From personal experience: when you connect the 2 small white wires that go to the hot rod, make sure you don't pull too hard on them or you will unplug the second plug, which is hidden halfway inside the tube. If your hotrod doesn't work after you change a controller, that's where to look. A little bit of electrical tape on that connection goes a long way.
