Living in Minnesota, obviously I’m doing a lot of cold-weather grilling. I want to get a blanket, but I have heard that the blankets can cause the paint to blister. Maybe the users kept the blanket on at high heat, which they are not supposed to do. Have any of you had this problem?

ive had the welding blanket on with as high of 350F multiple times with no paint issues as of yet. However I also know different models have different issues, Ironwood 885's I haven't recalled reading about paint defects, but the Ironwood 650 has paint issues with high temps on the right rear corner by the leg. So it can really depend.

Your 575 and mine have a Smoke stack... some models having issues do not... I would say if you get a Traeger Cover then just follow it's limits and you should be fine... in MN I would think you could never damage your grill unless you didn't clean and had a grease fire or something like that... I might make it thru this winter and not get one here in STL MO, but I'll bet I pony up for one next winter just for grins.

Yep. I live in MS and decided to order a blanket for my Pro 575!!! I'm sure it will help reduce amount of pellet consumption too! Going to add fireblack seal around the lid for smoke seal!😁👍🏻
