I’m primarily concerned with searing but plancha could be nice addition too. What do y’all recommend? The grate upgrade or the plancha/griddle accessory and why?

If you are in to searing, you can't go wrong with Grill Grates. I love mine! I can sear steaks or flip them over and use a griddle to sear scallops and other cooks.

When I do hamburgers I put two grill Grates on the gasser (save time and pellets) One is flat side up the other ridge up. I sear on the flat then move to the ridge side to get the marks. I use a heat reader to gauge the temp of the grates and I usually cook around the 400f mark.
