Timberline 1300
It seems simple enough. I did the Google thing and tried to do a factory re-set for my 1300. Pushing and holding the ignite button does nothing. Pushing combinations of buttons with the ignite button does nothing. I even unplugged it for a month. Is there an alternate method to factory re-set these things?

Thanks in advance,

I copied the following from someone's post;

Resetting the Grill’s WiFi

Customer Support instructed me on a task that's not in the manual. Hard reset on the Traeger to forget the network.
  • With the Smoker turned on - still cool. Go through the menu until you get to >Settings then to >About Grill
  • Once in the >About Grill area Hold Ignite for around 30 seconds
  • The display will open in a test environment. interesting area if you want to explore later.
  • CS then asked me to power the switch off and unplug the power cord for 30 sec.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on power switch.
  • Verify that your device that the app is running on, is connected to the 2.4GHz network.
  • Start the Traeger App and follow the instructions for adding a grill.

Thanks so much for the info.

But.....This method also did not work. It's almost as if my ignite button doesn't work. (I'm sure that it does because I've lit this thing off many times and it has ignited without hesitation)

Here's the long version of what I'm trying to do.
Getting the Traeger app to talk to my phone is the desired prize.
It already likes my home wi-fi, that part was easy.
I have no QR code under my pellet lid so the alternate is to manually enter two 4 digit codes for the grill name and then the grill password which appear on consecutive pages in the app.
On the Traeger, when I go to the area in the menu, there aren't any 4 digit codes.
My thinking is to factory re-set this thing and everything will magically return to it's brand new state and these digits will then show themselves.

If there is another way to get to where I want, I'm all ears. For instance, can I use the serial number to get these digits? Or is there another place where a QR can be?

Thanks in advance,

When I got my new controller, it came with a QR code sticker and if I recall correctly, it also had a QR sticker on the back of the controller. You might remove the 4 front screws, tilt it out and peek.

I was thinking about the 4 digit code, this is the unique code used when the grill is new and not connected to your home WiFi. An un-paired grill broadcasts its SSID as Traeger-XXXX. Your Phone connects to the grill as an access point, then it passes your home Wi-Fi info to the grill which then logs onto your home WiFi and stops broadcasting the grills SSID.

To restore this AP function, you need to go into WiFi Settings on the grill and select "Forget Network". The grill will once again broadcast its name in the SSID and visible in the WiFi Settings screen on the grill. In the app you would delete the grill and then "add grill" and go thru the process. The last 4 digits of the SSID are the password, no QR code needed.

Good luck!

No luck on the backside of the control panel. No stickers. No nothing.

Why can't they just put a hole so we can stick in a paper clip?

Awesome idea and I understand everything.....except....where/what would be the 4 digit code for the name?
Password 4 digit code? Check
Name 4 digit code? Uhhhh....
Maybe it'll be obvious when I try.
THANKS

RemE,
One word....GENIUS!!
After forgetting the network and going to the wi-fi settings, the Traeger held my hand by showing me a list:
Name: Traeger blah-blah
Password: Blah-blah
After that it just wanted the UUID (??) then give it a name and then all is well.
Thanks so much.
This needs to be added in the FAQs or some place where the next newbie can find it!

Thanks all for the help and inputs.
