Bought the 780 on 12/8/22 - Got one use out of my 780. After seasoning and one cook I got the blinking power switch. My Traeger has not worked since. I've had the power block, switch and harness replaced on 1/3/23. Still blinking light. Called Customer service again. Customer service tried to convince me that it was the power cord. I had to have the rep video call me again, hook up a multimeter to it to show correct voltage. They had to escilate it to a supervisor to get me the controller. Rep claimed it would be here today (1/7/23). Called again, new rep says it hasn't even shipped. I wanted a Traeger for so long, finally paid up and got one, have gotten one use outta it. Is this really worth it? Im beyond angry at Traeger...beyond angry at MY Traeger.- I might return to Home Depot...please convince me its worth it.

I’m sorry to hear how bad things have gone, hopefully they can make it right. I too have a pro 780 for a few months now. I’m still on the fence if I really like a pellet grill. I’m from SC notice you’re from Georgia, so you know what BBQ in the south taste like and how distinctive the smoke flavors are from smoked meats. You’ll never achieve that with a pellet grill but depending on your expectations as well as if you have other grills/smoker’s you might find something you’ll enjoy with it. I’m finding some things I like on mine as well as the ease of use, unfortunately you’ve not had that yet. Hopefully you enjoyed your first and only cook on it? There are a lot of great folks on here that share a lot of great suggestions, advice and some delicious looking pictures with tips of how to cook them. I wish you the best of luck with your new Traeger.

Wether you return it or keep it is pretty much up to you. That being said. I got my 780 June 2020. It had terrible temp issues. I spent a total of about 9 hrs over 3 months with traeger CS. They first replaced the rtd . This took 1 month because it was out of stock. Then they replaced the controller. That pretty much “fixed” the grill but the grill temp was ru lower than set temp. So I bought a FireBoard. Then I learned the grill.

Thanks Shedd. Seems like people really do like the Traeger. Unfortunately mine was built on a Friday afternoon. Just my luck. If my part ever comes in I think i'll give it another go.

Timmy, that all looks amazing. Thanks for the encouragement man. I want to do things like that. Just grounded for the moment with a 200lb, $900 paper weight on the back deck and the "i told you so" from the wife - thats probably what hurts the most. One day man I hope to be able to get somewhere close what you create.

are you past the return date to HD? You may could just return it to them and get another. You may have gotten a lemon.

I like my Traeger a lot. I did not come from a stick burner though which does matter. I guess it depends on your expectations really. You’re going to need an aftermarket probe for sure to better monitor the temp and protein so don’t forget that in your decision.

Someone is now bragging.

Nice pics by the way!

For "Donut": Give Traeger/Home Depot a reasonable chance to make it right and then make your decision. I betting that eventually you will be glad you gave it a chance and decide to keep it.
Aubie - Home Depot took the exchange this morning, no issues. Got it put together about half hour ago. Seasoning it now !

Appreciate the feedback everyone - gonna try this again, time for round 2 !

I’ve had my 780 for just over 2 1/2 years. There is a learning curve to pellet grills. I had trouble in the beginning and overcame it with the right tools and experimention and a ton of advice from the members on this site. So bragging? Sure! Members here dubbed me the Feastmaster.
But really anyone can do what I do. Just don’t give up and practice. Even if it doesn’t go right most times you can eat what comes off the grill.

And that, my lads, is why Timmy is the BBQ FEAST MASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
