My grill shuts off when you push ignite. I have only used it less than 20 times and it is a lawn ornament. Can you put an older controller on because there is no way I am paying 450 to replace it. Does sombody repair them.

Have you sought help from Traeger? It should be under warranty.

If it’s less than 3 years old. It should be covered under warranty. I bought my 780 June 2020, they replaced the controller 2weeks ago no problem.

Has there been a software update pushed out? Only reason I asked is when I logged in today on the home page that shows the current threads, three of the top 5 were people saying their rigs were shutting off when they hit the ignite button. All were started by different users...

Are you priming the auger before pushing ignite? Traeger might have changed the program to require priming before igniting the grill. That would prevent the hot rod from over heating and burning out prematurely. I always prime the auger before starting my Ironwood and that procedure has always worked for me. While it might not be needed after a normal shutdown, the burn pot will be empty after you clean the grill and priming the auger will be most helpful.

I had two Traeger, pro575 and an ironwood 650. All with controller issues. and temp issues. bought a Recteq. amazing
