What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

I’ll have to give it a try, I bought several of those from Costco a while back, they haven’t had any lately. But I put them frozen in my Sous Vide then sear. Really good steaks. The flavor really does come from the perfect searing as you describe.

What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

I added about 6 big chunks of Hickory in with it because at that temperature it doesn’t put out nearly as much smoke flavor. I lit it in four places so once it started the chunks would get going good, but closed my top vents to the same setting as I use for low and slow. That way it let the...

What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

This morning I smoked two butts on my XL Big Geen Egg. It’s been over a year since I’ve even used it because I’ve been enjoying the ease of my Pro 780. However I’ve fallen in love with the egg today. Both butts was around 11 lbs each. I setup my egg with oak lump coals and put several big chunks...

What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

Absolutely it is. I haven’t changed my grease bucket in close to a year. I hardly change the foil I have covering my drip tray. I spray my grates with Pam grill spray, since my main grate is mostly covered by the sheet pan, it hardly gets messy. My aftermarket grate cleans up easily wam, other...

I use one like your describing. I believe it’s 13x28, they had them on sale at Costco due the holidays for a good price. I like it because it’s durable and thin. I use the heavy duty foil from Sam’s Club and cover it. I like the fact it’s shallow. I have an aftermarket grill grate that I suspend...

    No smoke

I was in your shoes a couple years ago. I grew up with cooking in pits then offsets, and a BGE. My 780 pro was gifted by a friend and I hated it at first. You can use the search feature (magnifying glass symbol top of the screen) put in smoke tubes. I’ve got a few post of what I do. I use a...

    double smoke tubes

I actually use triple smoke tubes. Well technically I use one extendable smoke tube and two of what is called smoke boxes. The boxes are actually for other grills but I modified mine by drilling holes on the sides and bottom because in the Traeger they don’t get any airflow to keep them burning...

    Dissapointed too

I’m fortunate that my 780 Pro hasn’t given me any problems whatsoever. I didn’t want a pellet smoker and thought nothing could beat my BGE until my friend bought me mine and even put it together for me with a condition that I would give it a fair try for a year. I hated it at first but I’m so...

    Disappointed

No to be a wise guy but didn’t you research it before purchasing it? Luckily Costco has a good return policy, take it back, spend a little more and get the one that has more of what you’re wanting instead of throwing money into it trying to make it something it’s not.

Deal Alert! Lowes - Charcoal Pellets $8.97/bag on Clearance

I tried them last summer and wasn’t impressed. They burned hotter and didn’t have a good smoke taste in my opinion. I also tried to burn them in smoke my smoke tube but couldn’t keep them lit. Probably why they have them so cheap.

What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

I thought about taking the pics this time, today I cooked St Lewis ribs. I set my 780 pro at 230 and used my smoke tube and two modified smoke boxes. Coated with mustard base bbq sauce, a coat of Sweet Preacher rub then a little Honey Hog rub and smoked for about 3 hours, then wrapped them rib...
