Sorry bout that I should've have closed with an answer to my own question LOL I did make the new handle but in the process of replacing it I found the problem...about 4" of the insulation gasket around the lid had come loose right about the middle of the handle area and wasnt seating right...
That actually looks like a moisture type flake created by condensation from rapid heat build-up of dissimilar metals when there is heavy humidity. Jus sayin...
Even from a newbie! I could go...wow dude I really need to get me more, my 1300 only came with 1 LOL
Or
I could go...dats some funny chit thar buddy!!! LOL 😆
If needed I can and will make a whole new handle out of some Kentucky Hard Ash that was the center cut out of a 1962 Louisville Slugger bat. Solid Walnut handle stand-off's with a nicely stained and polished solid Louisville Slugger handle! LOL
Thanks for your reply Kraz. I have the supplied silica washer between the lid and handle and the 1/4x20x1" stainless bolts and their washers. What I'm doing is making two solid French Walnut 3/4" thick washers (to add right on top of the factory silica ones) and two new insulated 1/4x20x2"...
Right LOL but there is a difference between an ambient 110° temp and a direct handle heat of 153° (shot it with a temp gun) I am smart nuff to know the difference I asure you LOL
My only concern is it's electronic componants...I live in AZ and my outdoor (shaded areas-not direct sunlight) temps can get to 105-110 at times. Whew 🥵
