Thanks for all the help. Cook turned out great though I found I need to calibrate my meat probe, was reading about 45 degrees warmer than actual temps. Hopefully my new thermo will be here soon (backordered). Thank for all the help from everyone and the welcomes!!
Have a cook planned for tomorrow, already have the new thermo on the way from Traeger. Any foreseeable issues other than possible inaccurate temp readings using the smoker tomorrow?
Apparently I missed a sticker of something in my barrel. Seasoned my new 885 and opened to find a melted mess on what I’m guessing WAS the thermometer. My advice or guidance would be appreciated. Not sure how this will affect temp readings, they seem to kind of be bouncing all over.
Just curious what everyone does in the colder months? I live in MI and we get some pretty cold temps. I plan to do some cooking throughout the winter, just curious what if anything needs to be done to protect the electronics and hopper in the cold weather? It will be covered and in the garage...
