    Temperature Sensor

I have an Inkbird with 4 probes and I dedicate 1 to the ambient temperature. I place it as close to the traeger sensor as I can.

Best way to get pulled pork…….suggestions please

My local grocery store sells half butts and I love that because there is more surface area for bark and rub. And they don't take as long to cook as a full butt. Use as many as you need for the occasion.

    how to calibrate a IBBQ-4T

I've had the IBBQ-4T for a couple of years now and I LOVE it! I assume you are also using the companion app on your phone. My favorite feature in the app is the trending/graphing feature that allows you to watch all 4 temperatures on one chart. I find this trending feature most helpful in...

    Brisket- Point vs Flat?

I've smoked a couple of chucks and they always turn out delicious and are just the right amount for my wife and I. We end up with some leftovers but not enough to feed an army.

    Smoke Tube!

Someone may have already responded to this but just this past weekend I used cherry pellets in my Traeger and put hickory chips in my smoke tube. I don't think the mismatched wood types makes much difference at all especially since the cherry pellets give off such a mild smoke. I was going for...

What's cooking today? 🔥 Pics are necessary!

Can you sear with a propane torch? It would need to be a small amount of surface area I suppose if it's even possible.

    You must be kidding me

Hey Slim. I don't think the concern is a hacker being able to get into the Traeger controls. It has more to do with using the Traeger network connection to go the other way and get access to the PC in your house and harvest personal information that can be used to steal your money and so forth.

    Smoked Tri Tip Failure

I had been hearing how good Tri Tip beef roasts are for smoking so I gave it a try this weekend. Things did not end well . . . Here are the cooking details: 225F, cherry pellets (what was left in the hopper from previous cook), hickory chips in a smoke tube, rubbed with salt, pepper and...

    Preparing To Purchase First Treager

I have the Ironwood 650 and have loved everything about it. I can smoke 3 racks of ribs, at least 2 pork butts and I did a Turkey last Thanksgiving that was outstanding. I also have a gasser for searing, as others have suggested.

    Pork Timing Advice?

Inquiring minds want to know! How did it turn out? Awesome, I would bet. Any learnings you can share with the rest of us? I want to underscore to important points made by another poster: 1) Pork is forgiving. It takes a lot to screw up a nice piece of pork so you probably don't need to...

Thanks! I'll have to give that a shot.

    Trashed Wings

What is the spice level of the Holy Voodoo? I love hot stuff but, as I said, the wife is not a fan.

Pork Pulled Pork Butt: To wrap, or not to wrap. That is the question!

I never wrap my pork butts and have had great success. I rub them with Ozark Heat the night before and leave them in the fridge in foil overnight. My local grocery store sells half-butts so I normally smoke two of those. The cook time is much shorter and the surface area with all the...

    Probes

I'm a huge fan of the Inkbird gear mentioned above. My favorite feature is the graphing/trending you can do with the free app for your phone. You can graph the entire cook cycle and see the stall points etc. I use one probe for the internal temp of the Traeger and the other three for meat...
